TouchRight supports iPhone voice dictation in all text fields. Voice dictation is provided by Apple’s iOS keyboard, not directly by the TouchRight app. This means dictation must be enabled at device level before it will appear inside TouchRight.
If dictation is not showing, this is usually due to iPhone settings rather than the app itself.
TouchRight does not directly access your microphone.
Apple handles voice dictation at system level, so:
TouchRight will not appear under Settings, Privacy & Security, Microphone
There is no microphone permission to enable for the app
Dictation availability is controlled entirely by iOS keyboard settings
This is expected behaviour.
Open Settings
Tap General
Tap Keyboard
Toggle Enable Dictation on
If prompted, confirm by tapping Enable Dictation
Go to Settings > General > Keyboards > Keyboards
Ensure English (UK) or your preferred language is selected
Dictation relies on Siri services.
Go to Settings > Siri
Enable Press Side Button for Siri or Listen for Hey Siri
Open the TouchRight app
Tap into any text field
The microphone icon should appear on the iOS keyboard
Tap the microphone to start dictating
Please try the following:
Restart the iPhone
Test dictation in another app such as Notes or Messages
Check Screen Time restrictions
Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions
Confirm the device is not managed by a work profile or MDM policy
If dictation does not work in other apps, the issue is iOS related rather than TouchRight.
